The picture in the picture is my homage to Lorenzo Homar’s beautiful woodcut portrait of the Puerto Rican independence revolutionary Emeterio Betances. Betances led the Grito de Lares rebellion and designed the Lares flag also pictured here.
Twenty five percent of the purchase price goes toward supporting the work of Colectivo Ilé, an organization committed to anti-racist and decolonial education and activism in Puerto Rico. I am happy to provide a receipt of the donation upon request.
